What to do in Golfo Aranci. Beaches

Golfo Aranci beaches

No holidays in Sardinia can exist without a good dose of sea and beaches. And Golfo Aranci must admit that it has several to offer. First of all, the beach of Baia Caddinas, less than a kilometre from Golfo Aranci town. All around it is surrounded by granite rocks typical of the Gallura region, as well as flourishing Mediterranean vegetation. In front, there is a spectacular expanse of turquoise water with shallow waters, making this beach particularly suitable for families with children.

A little further south of the village, the Cala Moresca beach is recommended for anyone who enjoys go trekking: a 40-minute walk up the promontory of Capo Figari takes you to the lighthouse of the same name, from where you can admire the panorama of the entire coastline, including the island of Tavolara. However, even for the laziest of people, this beach is still a must, given its golden sand and emerald waters.

Cala Sos Aranzos is a white sandy beach and crystal clear sea that can be reached in a few minutes' drive from the village of Golfo Aranci. In addition to sunbathing on the free beach, various types of water sports can be practised here, from windsurfing to snorkelling around the rocks. One recommendation: Sos Aranzos is not a particularly spacious cove, so it could fill up easily, especially during the high season.

Another option is the Cala Sassari beach, with its amber-coloured sand embracing a crystal-clear turquoise sea, where you can comfortably choose between a free beach and beach facilities.

Golfo Aranci: things to do

Born as a fishing village, it became one of the most popular tourist resorts in northern Sardinia. Golfo Aranci tells its history to visitors through its main attractions such as the marina, the seafront promenade and the little, colourful houses. The things to see in Golfo Aranci that we particularly recommend are:

  • The MuMart, an interesting underwater museum right on the seabed and displaying contemporary art sculptures. Visitors can choose between an experience on board the submarine or, for the more sporty, by diving underwater. In fact, we are talking about stone works with a marine theme located between 4 and 7 metres deep.
  • What is special about Golfo Aranci is its nightlife: during the summer season, there are shows and events of all kinds animating the main streets of the town almost every night. In addition, there are restaurants and bars open until late at night to welcome tourists, as well as carousels and entertainment for children. Among the things to do in Golfo Aranci in the evening, we also recommend a stroll through the craft and food markets to discover typical Sardinian products.
  • The open-air photo exhibition in the streets of the old village, which brings to light a glimpse of the daily life of Golfo Aranci in the past with the blow-ups of local fishermen.
  • Boat trips from Golfo Aranci allow you to visit the natural wonders of the coast from a different perspective, such as the island of Tavolara, the island of Figarolo, or to arrive at some of the best beaches in Sardinia, avoiding the chaos and crowding that is typical of summer.

Golfo Aranci accommodation

In Golfo Aranci you can find various accommodation options and be just a step away from its wonderful beaches. But choosing a holiday home in Golfo Aranci is undoubtedly one of the most convenient, as you are not only more independent, but often even save money compared to staying in a resort or hotel. Among our Golfo Aranci villas, we suggest:

At Villa Kalli Bloom, a splendid villa for rent in Sardinia, you come to spend a dream holiday. It can accommodate up to 6 people and its special feature is the kitchen built into the bright veranda, perfect for a sweet awakening while gazing at the Golfo Aranci sea.
