North and North East Sardinia: the best villas for rent
North and north east Sardinia: what to see on holiday
The north east of Sardinia is the best known area of the whole island, with a strong tourism vocation. There are countless seaside and inland resorts, which during the high season are very popular with vacationers and travelers from all over the world. The presence of the exclusive Costa Smeralda pulls the holiday train of northern Sardinian, thus even nearby towns are increasingly known and appreciated by lovers of the area. San Teodoro and Capo Coda Cavallo, the paradisiacal Maddalena Archipelago, the renowned area of Olbia and Porto Rotondo, up to the far north overlooking Corsica, dominated by Santa Teresa di Gallura and the wild strip of land of Capo Testa. All toponyms that evoke white sandy beaches, crystal clear and transparent sea. Scenarios immersed in unspoiled nature, where you can stay in the most exclusive villas for rent in northern Sardinia.
The north and northeastern quadrant of the island, almost completely coincides with the historic region Gallura. One of the most famous territories of the entire island due to the wild nature and unspoiled landscapes, often used as a natural movie set and for effective commercials. The area has a solid economy based not only on tourism but also on the extraction of granite, wine production and the cork industry. Sectors in which local companies represent a real excellence at an international level. It suffices to cross the hilly and mountainous interior to realize the importance of these resources, given the great natural and visible wealth of the area. Even the northernmost strip of the Baronies region falls within the northeastern territories, adding other wonderful coasts and dream landscapes.
Some villas in northeastern Sardinia, where you can spend unforgettable moments, dedicated to relaxation and fun, are:
- Villa Selene Blu in Olbia.
- Villa Sa Mola in San Teodoro.
- Villa Li Cuncheddi in Olbia.

The most beautiful beaches in the north of Sardinia
Although we enjoy them every day, we are still not "addicted" to the island beauties. Let alone the visitors to these magical places, who fall under the spell of the imposing island of Tavolara - a giant guarding the north coast of Gallura -, as well as the great variety of idyllic landscapes and sceneries. Some of the most beautiful beaches on the whole island are in the north and northeast; natural jewels, to visit and fall madly in love with. Even the wild granite mountain ranges of the countryside awake the senses and give an extreme feeling of freedom and inner balance, in harmony with the nature and its ancestral forces. In our opinion, it is difficult to tell which of all the pearls of fine sand and shallow waters is the most beautiful beach in northern Sardinia. We name a few below. You can choose.
Pink Beach of Budelli – Maddalena Archipelago.
A unique gem in the whole Mediterranean Sea. The “beautiful and unreachable”
among Sardinian beaches. Undoubtedly beautiful, due to the creamy pink beach, made up of tiny grains of granite, coral fragments and shells of mollusks. This marvel is washed by a sea that is turquoise and transparent like the wind. Unreachable, as it is forbidden both bathing and landing on it, in order to preserve this masterpiece of nature. If you agree with admiring it from afar and taking a dip in waters so clear that you can distinguish the shells on the seabed, then do not hesitate to book an excursion, or rent a boat to anchor near the island of Budelli.
Prince Beach – Porto Cervo, Arzachena, Costa Smeralda.
The beach of the Costa Smeralda par excellence. The favorite of the imam and prince of the Ishmaelites Karim Aga Khan IV. It is said that he landed with his yacht in today's bay of Porto Cervo in the 1960s, and was immediately struck by the beauty of this scenery. He decided to found a tourist destination that respected the places and in perfect harmony with the natural ecosystem. For this purpose, he hired world-famous architects, who created the Smeraldino architecture. The rest is legend! The myth of the Costa Smeralda still survives today, thanks to the elegance and class of its founding father, capable of translating beauty into sinuous architectural forms. Of all the beaches in the area, the “Principe” beach was his favorite. It stands out for the romantic scenery of the arch made of bright sand, the spearhead of the deep inlet, enclosed by a pink granite promontory.
Cala Finanza – Porto San Paolo
The beautiful Finanza bay is on the trait of northeastern coast of Sardinia in the territory of Porto San Paolo. It is dotted with a dense and fragrant Mediterranean scrub, with the regal island of Tavolara in the background. The beach is bathed by transparent waters with shades between emerald green and blue, and has a golden beach composed of medium-grained sand. The seabed is deep, and a few peculiar rocks emerge here and there. Not far from the cove, on the opposite side of the small peninsula where the beach is located, there is a bar, where you can enjoy a drink at sunset, a marina with small boats and a parking place. In the immediate vicinity we also find other small bays, such as the beach of Punta La Greca, the beach of Punta Don Diego and the picturesque Rolex Bay, which usually are little crowded.
